I just noticed last night that my first dvd player, Tosh SD-2200, has HDCD capability. Does anybody have any opinions on this piece? It has worked flawlessly for 5 yrs now. Is their any way to modify it for better music reproduction, or is it not cost effective? It's the 2-disc player with built-in 5.1 decoder. would like to move it to the 2-channel rig til I can afford a transport/DAC set-up.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks, Noel

You would have to open it up to see but I think it is all surface mount and would be very hard to follow and modify. Open it up and look though.

Thanks MM, I'll do that and check it out. But at least I noticed it had HDCD playback capabilities. My Sony doesn't but at least it has pscan.
