My sister's boyfriend came by this evening and wanted to take a listen to his new sub, an 8" RL-i in a .35 cubic foot sealed enclosure. We wired it up in my trunk and took a listen, he is getting his system installed this weekend. I was very impressed with how nice the single 8" sounded. I did not think that it would have as much impact as it did. We put it in the trunk firing towards the rear of the car, and had the center armrest openened. My amp is rated at 360 watts RMS at 4ohms bridged and a little more at 2ohms (this is how we had it wired it up). I am looking at getting a couple of these when I get my SUV. The magnet is the same size as the one on my beefy 10" sub.

I would like to hear how two of these bad boys sound :D .

Urban Audio had some fly triangle subs a short while ago! I think Pyle had some too!

Me, I'm into Small, Shallow, Octagonal bass with equally shallow extension. I don't think that even Sony can supply that.

Of course. The human ear can't really hear below 75Hz anyway. No point in low-end extension. Just makes your car shake and rattle anyway...

I prefer more subtle bass. I like it smooth and extensive of the midrange. But then again Im 33 years old. :D

i believe that is referred to as being an 'audiophile' instead of our colloquial 'teeniebopper'.

::gasp::... but... but... that's why car audio is so fun! 31 band equalisers, time alignment, gains, infinitely variable crossovers and phase...

my custom signed RL-p 12D2, just showed up the other day,

I know that one SoundSplinter RL-i8 owner is currently running an Orion 2500D @2ohms mono to the sub, the amp is ratted at 1700@2ohms, after impedance rise and a very low setting on the gains, the sub is not seeing all of that power, but still it says a lot for a little beast like that to take that kind of power daily
