Peeling Plastic on Baffle

Hi All,

I'm sure this is a well known issue, but I'm new and don't know too much about vintage polks. So hope someone can help.

I've had a pair of TR8's in the past, and the lamante had started to peel off from the front baffle and the plinth. I managed to glue it back together with some contact adhesive (althought they shrinked a bit). I've recently bought a pair of LS90's with the same problem. This one is worse though. Because a lot of the laminate is actually missing, so no chance of gluing back on. Any suggestions on fixing this? Since I've seen it on 2 sets of old Polks, I' assume this is a common problem.

The other problem is on the LS70's there is a surround around the grill. That has some plugs which connects them to the speaker. Some of these plugs has actually broken and is stuck in the speaker. Anyone experienced this before? Is there an easy way to remove the broken plugs? I've not heard the rattle, so I think they're still alright, but I'd rather fix them if I can.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.
