I have a Yamy rvx-2500, RTi70 (soon) and R50's. I have heard the sound is alot better from a 2 channel amp. Does the 2-channel amp go from the out on my reciever or what. Could some one explain to me how the seperate 2- channel amp works and how it hooks up or direct me to somewhere where I can learn. What amp would you guys/gals recommend 200-300 used? Thanks for your help.

A real new newbie.

An external amp hooks from your preamp outputs on your receiver into the inputs on your amp.

Your Yamaha is a stout receiver, so you won't notice huge gains in quality or quantity of sound unless you have a huge listening room. Just my 2 cents. It will be better, just not drastically better.

I would look into a used Yamaha M45, M60, M70, M80 or M85 amp to hook to your new 70s. They are in your price range and pump 200-300 watts depending on the load.
