I want to learn of car audio

For many years i have had an intrest in home audio. i have never been old enough to drive until now. when somone says they have a bridged amp what does that mean?

    It means that they most likely have a stereo amp that has a secondary output mode that, for all intents and purposes, esstially lets you combine the power of the output circuits for each channel. This then gives you a single channel with twice as much power as your individual stereo channels.

    Essentially, yout make two channels into one and double your power at the minimum. Some amps will put out more power in bridged mode than in stereo mode. Most amps are bridged by taking the positive lead of the left channel and hooking it up to the positive lead of teh speaker and hooking the negative lead of the right channel up to the negative lead of the speaker.
