The day I get my RMDS1, the new DS7200 comes out! Will it possible to purchace just the DS7200 pre-amp and will it be able to function with the rest of the RMDS1 stuff? The RMDS1 will not decode DTS even though it goes into Dolby Digital (no sound). It's just my luck that you come out with a new model the day i get mine. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm very happy with with the RMDS1 but no DTS support seems to bugging me. Maybe there is a separate DTS decoder I can get?

Thanks

Hey, the RMDS-1 is a hell of a system. It still blows us away.

DS7200 won't appear in dealers till at least Sept, AFAIK.

But if you're seriously feeling remorse, you might try to go back to your dealer and explain the situation. We have no control over the dealer's policies, which may be quite liberal. Some dealers have 30 day trial periods, or allow trade-ups. It's worth asking about if you are really serious.

Kinda sad, they don't make separate DTS decoders at reasonable price any more that you can't get them easy since there weren't many demands out there, you can get one but may be in the highend products, if you lucky, there are some discontinued products out there (good price) that you can get( check ebay). And then, when you add this separate to your system, it will cost you a whole bunch and if you receiver or amp have the 5.1 input option or not, 3 pairs of RCA audio to connect ($100 a pair on the MC reference series) or at least a couple digital cables, sorry to point this out. Man, there are so many good stuffs out there with DTS sound, major movies now a day on DVDs have both DD and DTS sound on and many available DTS CDs that you can get, I wonder if you can accept the no DTS option, by the way, DTS sound a whole lot better than DD in most cases...
    Good luck:( :)

    Just a side note....imho

$100 a pair for monster cable RCA is retarded. Audioquest Sidewinders are under $30 a pair, and even the $6 Fosgates at Crutchfield are more than FINE for most ears and applications.

I see your point, I should say there are many price ranges on audio cables and you get what you pay for, in any case it should works well anyway(but never retarded, you may be supprise if you try them, you may missing something that you did not know before)... just depend on the buyer's budget, if I own a pre apmp and amp that cost $7,500 each, I would not want to put on the $6 cables , just like you want to put on 4 compact spare tires on a brand new cadillac that can never run faster than 50 miles/hr on the freeway, you never get all the benefits of the products that you paid for...:) in this case here with Polk products, I would not want to recommend the cheap cables anyway, $100 may be excessive, but $30-$50 a pair sounds reasonable.

    NO MORE dd vs dts.

Just get BOTH, period, end of story.....if DTS is an available audio format on your dvd's, USE IT.
