Picked up a nice sansui g-3000 receiver for next to nothing today, from what I have been able to find out it is rated at about 30 watts per channel but it sure doesn't sound like 30. Not to mention it is in very good condition. Anybody else have this one?

The wife picked up a freebie, an entire rack with some nice hitachi gear. The amp is not powering up and fries the fuse when I replace like there is no tomorrow, I am thinking the rectifier ( appears to be a zener ) is bad and is the culprit. I really lilke the look of the amp, it kind of looks like a luxman knockoff.

I also picked up a little roadside find, I esitmate this to be from about maybe the 50's but I am not for sure. It was made by capitol record and is a really cool piece as it is just for playing records only, turntable, integrated tube amp, and no am or fm anywhere.

I do not have a variac and was planning on borrowing one to power up with but my son beat me to the punch and had already plugged her in and powered it up so I just went ahead and gave it a whirl and it works just fine, played a little vinyl on it and was pretty impressed.

The 3000 is worth a little bit, in the Sansui circles.

Sold my G-8700DB last week. 165w cont /ch. Lot of balls for a receiver. Can't say the same for the sound.

The Console looks like a solid state unit, pray the drivers are Alnico, otherwise it's a cool-factor item.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Russ, she's all tube, I was thinking about pulling the amp to play around with but I guess it might be worth a bit more to leave it the way it is. Just call me an idiot, what am I looking for to tell if it is alnico or not?

Sweetness!!!! Congrats on some incredible finds. Can't believe the condition they're in. I really love the vintage look. Don't pull out the amp on that record player. It's beautiful and I'm sure it's a collector's piece.
