Let the long daylight begin

Well the winter was long, as it always is here, and it is time for the long, long days. We have not hit the peak yet, but the sun is setting at 22:42 and rising at 4:28. As we approach the summer months, we will only have between 3 and 4 hours of darkness. Even then, it is not quite dark, only dusk. Washing you car at midnight is not uncommon and the long nights on the deck or by the water are great. Just my little "pick-me-up" for the summer.

Amen brother!
Those at lower latitudes really miss out on the whole midnight sun thing. I really like it. It certainly is better than the other extreme during the winter. Man, I thought it was difficult to get audio equipment here in Fairbanks. It must be a real nightmare where you live!Music and Movie Rig

I remember being in Alaska and the sun still up at midnight and beyond. Sitting on the deck of the ship, all is quite, the sun setting over icebergs...awesome!
Enjoy!
Here in SoCal we get daylight until about 8:30 or so. Still, a very nice change from the Winter darkness at 5pm.If...

Ron loves a film = don't even rent. -
Getting equipment is a nightmare. I am looking at purchasing a sub for my HT and all that I have here is Yamaha & Mirage. Not bad I guess for what I want it for. (HT only)
I have some business travel scheduled for mid June and will be travelling to Inuvik which is getting very close to the Beauford Sea (well above the Arctic Circle). At midnight during the summer, the sun dirrectly vertical. I do not think I would enjoy that all summer, but for a week or so I think it will be cool. So basically at noon and at midnight the sun is in the same place in the sky.
I still kind of miss a lot more summer.Michael
