Due to some money restraints, my next car might very well be just that...a car, not a truck like originally planned. It will be a used car, like 01-03 model. Anything newer than that will most likely be out of my price range. 16k is max, preferably less. I've been looking at the g35s on ebay. coupes of course. i was also looking at the acura rsx as well. but im really wanting a rwd car. hopefully it wont come to this and ill have my truck, but just in case--what do you guys think??
basically im just wanting opinions on these cars and similar cars in the price range im looking for. a car thats easily upgradeable but has a good base engine to start with. id rather have a manual but i dont think the g35s come with a standard as an option, at least i couldnt find one on ebay with one...

    Cody,

If you can find a g35 coupe for about 16K then please let me know I will want one too. I have been looking at this car for about 8 months and since I want the stick I haven't found any price under 25K and that car sold in under 3 days. The RSX is not being made anymore so I don't know about that. Good luck.

Thought about a mustang, but after all, it is a ford.

I buddy of mine has both the Acura RSX GSR version and the Honda S2000. If you're into handling, the RSX GSR is very good. My buddy rated the handling of the S2000 get a 9 out of 10, and the GSR has 85% of the S2000's handling.

Now wait.... you have money constraints, but you're looking at an Infiniti or an Acura? Damn, I wish I had those money constraints!

    Cody,

I've driven hundreds of RSX and they are very good cars. They are very reliable, fuel efficient, and pretty fun to drive aswell. They hold their value well too. The Type S is obviously more fun with 40 more horses and the 6 speed. My only complaint is that rear visibility is poor, as it is for most small hatches.

Now I have a couple of questions, what is a RSX GSR, and since when was the RSX discontinued?

Any links? I've searched and cant find anything.

I meant type S RSX, not the GSR. Thanks for the correction.

well, i can get both of those cars for under 16k. but on the other hand a similar truck that im looking at would be over 18k with more miles.
i wish the rsx had the CL trunk though, it looks much better IMO.
I wonder what will be faster, the rsx type s or the g35 with the auto. I'd rather have a standard but i dont think the g35s came with a standard option until this year.

if your max budget is 16k and the truck you want is 18K work on that deal... you can surely get rid of, or stuff away 2k somewhere.. if your talking buying locally which i advise.. Id never buy a car/truck sight unseen on e-bay and you have to many bidders wanting that "good" deal and it ends up not a good deal.. If you find a workable dealer you can get where you want to be if you work hard on them and walk if they don't give ya what ya want.. Ive had a ton of used cars and bought 3 brand new cars and never paid sticker.. My pathfinder i have now i got around 6k off because it was a left over 04'

Where do you find a used G35C for 16k? Buy it unless it is wrecked or otherwise not in good condition.

    I couldn't find a single G35C for less than $20k from autotrader.
