Polk xrt12 infrared problems

I have just installed my xrt12 with my whole house audio system. I have a series of Pronto remotes throughout the house that control all the audio equipment in a central closet.

In any room I simply point the remote at an infrared eye in the wall and it is transmitted to the closet. This has worked find for the 15 or so devices that have cycled in and out of my setup.

However, the Polk XRt12 is refusing to cooperate. It's own remote works *sometimes* over the IR link. About 50/50 it seems...

My Pronto remotes work fine when standing in front of the Polk. They work about 1% of the time through the IR repeater. I've never seen this happen before.

Any suggestions? I'm going nuts here. I'm about ready to go to a Frankenstein approach of having the control via a USB-irt -> HomeSeer -> Cinermar HomeLobby -> Xrt12 plugin -> serial cable -> Xrt12 just to get this thing working correctly in my system...

Thanks for any suggestions!
