Is there a way..... to rip a CD to the computer, and NOT compress the resulting file? Meaning, NOT an .mp3.
To put it another way, is there a way to rip a CD to the 'puter, that will result in a file that is the same quality as the original?

After you use Exact Audio Copy you can convert the wav files to FLAC files which makes the files about 30-40% smaller. It uses the same idea as WINZIP to compress the file. However the compression is digital compression NOT audio compression, so the file ends up being LOSSLESS. It saves space on your hard drive and you don't sacrifice any sound quality like you do with mp3's. Use Google to find out everything you need to know.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -
or just go no compression w/ .wav or just directly copy off of the cd using My Computer or suchGod shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8
