I've got a set of Polk RM7200's and an H/K avr230. I set it all up recently and I'm running some used wire, which I think is 16 gauge mega cable. I wanted to upgrade so I got a 50 ft role of the Monster xp xpms wire from circuit city. I'm not sure of the gauge but I searched and read on here that its 12. The 50 ft was enough for the 2 rears and now I wanna buy another 50 ft for the fronts. The listening area in the room is 12' front to back and 10' side to side. My question is is this wire too big/high of a gauge, and is there such a thing? Thanks a lot for any help.

12guage will work just fine.
You might find a better deal on it at a home improvement store like lowes or home depot. I don't think you will hear much of a difference between 12ga. monster and 12 ga. generic wire, but your wallet will notice the difference.
