it was tough but I finally quit...

warning: the following is a rant about my odd day...

I've been working at a gas station for almost a year now and I havn't liked my boss since the day I started. I always helped him out when somone bailed on a shift and covered for him hoping to get a bit of appreciation or at very least a status as a good worker but that didn't happen... All this guy did was take advantage of my good nature and as long as I was helping him out he didn't care what happened in the rest of my life. (eg he had me working 5 days a week for 3 months while I was going to school full time...) Anyways I've had nothing but conflicts with this guy and I just couldn't take any more of his lies and don't give a **** about his employees attitude so today I told him that the 28th of May would be my last day...

I'm both happy about my decision to ditch this dead end job and saddened. I will miss the awesome co-workers who I have become close friends with as well as the few frequent customers that I really connected with. On the other hand I can't wait to not have to directly deal with the general public and finally have some free time on my hands to do what I want and catch up on school just in time for exams.

Luckly I'm not too concerned about finding another job right away since I have my fourth year of landscaping coming up. As another bonus one of my teachers has set me up to work at a local company as an accountant. I'm not too sure I want to do accounting anymore (maybe thinking electrical engineer or something audio related since I just love it so much) but it will be awesome experiance and I get credits for it.

Sorry for the long rant but I needed to get this off my chest... it's time to study for the math test tomorrow and whip up some resumes to hand out to as many audio stores as I can find :p (my ideal part time job)

Good for you. It's one thing to hate your job, but entirely different to up and quit it. You are better off away from a crappy job environment. It might be hard without that weekly cheque coming in, but after a short time you will feel better.

Wait a month then send the station's corporate headquarters a letter stating why you quit. Sales will be down because you left and the a$$h0le will get grilled.

Don't give up on landscaping, the pay is great and you can always branch out to do other things. Redecorating yards/gardens makes good money. Use this to pursue EE or ME if you wish.

Anyway, more time now to listen to your new 7's while studying, and you can always invite your old work friends over for a listen. :D

Place a small bag of quick-drying cement in the crapper then call your local school/county health department. They usually will have to close the school/business down if there are no toilets available for use. :)

Don't forget to try and land some internships. They really open up the job market once yougraduate.

Thanks people... that accounting job is actually a volunteer apprenticeship program through my school. It's just too bad we don't have anything audio related except this Musical Composition program where you edit music and stuff. (taking it next year for something different)

Speaking of bathrooms... this place has only one and we have had an "Out of Service... sorry for this temporary inconvience" sign on the door for over a year now. My boss put it up because he was sick of dealing with messy people, and I guess the fact that some little girl crapped all over the walls (pants down before she reached it and swung around but couldn't hold it in that long **nasty**)
btw we were told to not let people use the bathroom and I did that for a while until I kept getting embarrased when a customer asked to use it and I told them no then my boss would say heres the key go for it.

I'm feelin a bit better today knowing that I only have to go there for five more shifts then im free!!
