Portable speaker suggestionI will be taking a 12 hour trip to Kansas City in about a month and desperately need some battery powered portable speakers cheap. Anyone have any suggestions?

You'd probably get the best sound for the money with some comfortable headphones...

Every cheap portable speaker set I have heard is harsh and just sounds terrible where as you can spend twenty bucks on headphones and get semi-decent sound...

Simple question. If you had a cool million bucks, what would you do with it?

yup. headphones. i've got a 15 year old pair of KOSS "digital" (whatever) headphones and they sound better than anything i've ever heard when it comes to headphones.

btw- does anybody even know if KOSS still exists ?

I have two pair of Koss headphones, both the same model, both were $20 @ wal-mart. I used to listen to those things all the time, but lately I haven't found myself needing a pair of cans. Actually, I have to say that I _had_ two pair of them. One broke when I rolled my chair over them :(

The model I have are the TD 61.

I ALSO have a pair of Koss Pro 4AA headphones from the 1970s. They sound absolutely awesome, but they're quite heavy. They still sell that model, and I plan to get another pair as soon as I have the expendable cash :). Gotta love 10-25,000hz frequency response....

cool i found them. they're Koss "K/6X Plus"

seems like a hokey name but damn they sure do sound nice- at least as far as headphones go. I'm beginning to think they're alot older than 15 years however.

Sorry, my last post was confusing. I am wanting portable speakers because it is a large group of us. Thank you for the headphone suggestions though, I will look into these
