Oh well the unfortunate thing happened and they stole my car. I think it was an inside job. Had my car serviced at this garaged they kept it for a day and a half went to the movies monday came out and car gone. It had a state of the art alarm system sans satellite tracking (which I'm gonna get on the new one) and it seems that whomever stole it had a key and the alarm code copied on a remote.

five days later, the cops found it. Gonna see it tomorrow at the tow yard to see if its salvageable or a total loss. Insurance company has taken great care of me SO FAR. Car rental and what not. My Agent told me if I can't find some of the receipts just basically get an estimate from the Sound Shop on how much it would cost to replace everything I lost. When I told this to my friend who is a manager of the sound shop, he broke out in the Biggest GRIN ever. Well Polksters wish me luck.

Yep, way back when, one of the shops in Topeka was doing shady stuff like that. A few bullets into the shop owner ended that.

ok.. so they found the car... sent it to the body shop.. and now State Farm has a company called First Choice that is gonna work with me to replace everything that was lost. They gave me a couple of choices of Sound Shops close to me and the Circuit City Roadshop in Long Beach is the closest and besides the manager is a good friend of mines... which means.. he will special order my needs. Question for you guys: anyone ever worked with First Choice as far as equipment replacement? State Farm thinks they are great. As far as gears for my car... original car gear on sound domain and probably on my sig.. the replacement I discussed with my friend is as follows:
    Head Unit: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Pioneer-In-Dash-Multimedia-A-V-Receiver-AVIC-N2-/sem/rpsm/oid/119886/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

Amps: for the four components on doors
    Kicker KX650.4
To Power the Subs Kicker KX 1200.1
    Door Components: Kicker RS65.2
    SubsKicker L7 x 2
Satellite Radio I'm switching over the XM with the Traffice Navi guide Pioneer XM
    Flip Down Monitor Panasonic CY-VHD9500U
My Music Keg MP3 Player will be replaced by a 40GB Ipod with the Pioneer Ipod Interface
This is so far what we came out with. Of course the alarm system with satellite tracking and two way paging.
What are your thoughts? Has anyone worked with First Choice on equipment replacement.. thanks

Man, I sure hope they're easy to work with and that you get your system all set-up again. But just curious, what exactly is your 'alarm system with satelite tracking and 2-way paging'? That sounds really elaborate and really awesome; what all does it do? And  how much does it cost?!?! *holds breath*

Sorry man, that must have been a horrible feeling when you walked outside and your car was gone. I'd look for ways to prove it was the mechanics and then take it to court. Don't do anything stupid that will land you in jail. Good luck with everything.

yeah... doing it the right way... getting the Police Department involved in all the investigations... As far as me... I'm tired of experiences of sitting in a jail cell.. saying wut did I do that for.. spending the money on a bail bondsman and lawyer... just sheer waste of money that didnt need to happen if I used common sense...

I've been there man. I just hope you don't have American Family. They F***ED me over and I never received payment for anything. They paid off my load (which was $2k less than value of the car) and that was it. Nevermind the $5500 in audio and $2500 in other add-ons (rims and what-not). I was beyond f-ed. Taking them to court sure didn't do anything either. I hate them.
