Another whirlwind east coast tour.....
On the way up to NJ, I got to stop in with my compadre F1Nut to HQ Polk....got to say hi to Paul, Al, Justin which was cool. Also got to chat at length with Ken. It was terrific to finally meet Ken who has been a real blessing to us all.
Jesse and I then went to BMDP's abode and then for a trip to an audio shop a little ways away to listen to some Jolida and other gear. It was great to meet Mike and his lovely family, nice people and I appreciate the hospitality. Unfortunately I was not able to make a return trip to Balitmore as my truck was running funny, intermittently and I had a pretty nasty cold. Rest assured, though, I'll be back (with plenty of notice so you can plan to be out of town). BMDP has some SERIOUS gear. I never understood the attraction to the flea watt SET gear. Now I do. Not that my rigs would ever go in that direction but I can see why it has such a strong following. Acoustic music is absolutely to DIE for. The Cains sound fabulous but you can't put a plant in front of them.
While in Jersey, I was again fortunate enough to hang out at Casa Grand. As always, George and his lovely family were the perfect hosts. I always enjoy a visit there.
Anyhow, back at home for a couple of days as the Lovely Wendi and I head to Australia on Sunday!
Just wanted to take a moment and thank Jesse, Mike and George for putting up with me!

Thanks for the report and glad to hear you made it back home safely! Is the trip to Australia for business or pleasure? That's a place I would like to visit.

BDT,
Glad you had a safe roundtrip! It was my pleasure to finally meet and get to chat a bit. Wish we would have had more time. You're welcome here anytime.
WOW...Australia! That sounds wonderful.
BTW - I finally gave in a bit to my "purist" approach to the SE OTL rig and tried it with the new GG preamp. The dynamics of the SQ are astonishing with the extra 12 db of front end gain (yes Chuck, you were absolutely right.) I believe F1 might even be impressed.
Have a great time "down under" and thank the Lovely Wendi for the cookies.

Thanks Mike!
I usually make the trek up and down I-95 at least once a year, usually more.....so I'll be back for sure.
Australia is strictly pleasure.....can't wait.
I'd like to hear that pre in the mix but I'll bet you STILL can't put a plant in front of it. I've been laughing about that for two weeks now.
Also, what was that first CD that we listened to on the SRS's?? I NEED to bag that disc.

Edit: Ooops, it was Karen Briggs "Karen" on VTL records, if you're thinking of the violinist (which was the first thing we played.) -

Gotta give the Lovely Wendi credit, she has done a STELLAR job of managing the beads and shells.

Good to see you had a safe and enjoyable trip.
Sounds like a great time socially as well as new insight on some really great gear.
BTW, BDT I started jonesing for that "Might Sam McClain" XRCD that I left at your place and dammit....... I was forced to buy it
That is one fine disc!
