From what I've read, 93% is pretty unrealistic. The general consensus seems to be that III is better than the other two prequels, but still a far cry from the great movie we all expected when the prequels were first announced.
For a few reviews written by fans who have good and bad things to say, all very practical points I might add, check out the reviews on chud.com. All four reviewers contriuted their own review, and three out of four gave the film a 7/10.
    Review 1
    Review 2
    Review 3
    Review 4
In case you're interested in seeing this film, but have been living in a cave and miraculously avoided the major plot points of this film, you may not want to read these reviews as they all contain spoilers.
Considering the fact that the revealing trailer, the video game, the novelization, the graphic novel, and the film score have all been released well before the actual film, the release of the actual movie almost seems obsolete.

Keep in mind that rottentomatoes.com is an indication of what percentage of reviewers gave a POSITIVE review. So if 93% of reviewers gave a 7/10, that would be a 93% on the Tomotometer. It has nothing to do with the LEVEL of positive reviews... if every single reviewer gave a 7/10, that would be a 100%.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

    In response to gregure:

"Whatever one thought of the previous two installments, this dynamic picture irons out most of the problems, and emerges as the best in the overall series since The Empire Strikes Back."

    -Variety

"The final episode of George Lucas' cinematic epic Star Wars ends the six-movie series on such a high note that one feels like yelling out, 'Rewind!'"

    -Hollywood Reporter

"A rousing and tragic sendoff to a beloved franchise, and the best installment in the Star Wars series since 1980's The Empire Strikes Back."

    -Reelviews

"Believe the hype. Sith is the crowning achievement of the Star Wars mythos."

    -Gazette MD

"It may well be the best of all six Star Wars movies."

    -Splicedwire

"Enthralling and triumphant, Lucas saved the best for last, completing a significant cultural phenomenon that now encompasses six films."

    -Modamag

That doesn't sound like praise for a film that is only moderately better than the first 2 prequels.

Well, given that I know the whole story already, I have to say that I agree w/ many of the points that have been brought up in the more analytical reviews. I know it's better than the previous two, and that it is a decent film overall, but it is far too mired by some of the problems of the previous films to make it a great film, or to make it live up to what it could have been had the whole trilogy been handled better. I know I'll enjoy it overall, but there are some issues that will piss me off too, and whether it bothers anyone else or not, it's still disappointing that certain areas of the story were not addressed, or rushed through to create a less than believable outcome. At least the original trilogy had great characters, who were well developed.

When it comes down too it, my beef with this new trilogy is that it is nothing like the old, nothing even close, other then the names of the characters. Expecting Lucas to recreate that could be asking too much, I don't know.

For me, this new trilogy is not even Star Wars. When I think of Star Wars I think back to the old trilogy and how it affected me as a kid. No movie affects me like that now so I shouldn't expect this new trilogy to live up to that either. It cannot, no matter what Lucas does.

But, this new trilogy does lack a lot of what made the old trilogy so great, the characters and the interaction between them, something this new trilogy lacks completely. It was the characters that made the old trilogy so great, not the special effects, story...etc.

I might see this last film in the theater if I get the chance. I will buy the dvd so it may just wait until then. I am in no hurry as I know the story so it's just the visual part I'd be going to see, nothing more.

What made the old trilogy so great and made it Star Wars were the characters which this new trilogy lacks 100%.
    If...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.

no- you guys were right. The movie's already gone back down to like 83% now.

i'm thinking maybe the first people to see it and post reviews were prob. star-wars fans themselves- then as everyone else sees it and their reviews start to creep in- then the % will go down.

Still, 83% isn't too shabby. None of the reviews I've seen have given it less than average.

Ebert and Roeper gave the film 2 big thumbs up last night on their show.
