Need help troubleshooting dead channel

Help please,
Today I attempted to listen to a sacd and recieved no sound from
right front channel.Im using an h/k 310 as a pre-pro and Denon 2900 for the universal.Im only having this problem when I select 6 channel direct on the h/k which is the only mode you get sound for sacd.I tried a regular cd in a diffrent mode and get sound out of that channel ,I also played a dvd-audio disk and get no sound when in 6 channel mode, but I do via dts.I tried switching out that cable for that channel and get the same result.
How do I find out where the problem lays,in the h/k or the denon?

take the right channel from the denon and plug it into the left channel of the receiver....if you get sound, it's not the denon.


i had a problem where i wasn't getting sound out of my left surround, no matter what. it was a crack in the board in my receiver. marantz fixed it for free, i didn't pay for shipping or anything. i'm not saying this is your poblem for sure, but you might have to take it in to get checked out.

Thanks for the suggeston,just tried it and it seems the problem is the h/k.Looks like no more sacd until I can afford to upgrade.:(

listen to SACD in 5.1 then? lol don't let a rotten surround channel blow your whole experience. SACD in stereo is supposed to be good too.

The only way I can get sound for sacd is through 6 channel direct mode on the h/k and the front right channel is dead in that mode,unless i switch the analog cables like you suggested,and thats kinda pain in the arse,but doable.
