Paradigm Studio V3 Speakers? Who has heard em?
I was just wondering if anyone has heard the V3 Studio speakers be it 20, 40, etc..
I'm thinking about possibly selling my 9s and getting some 20s. I havent had a chance to audition, but I'm just wondering if people who have would think its worth it.

Yeah I feel like the digm is a more forward speaker (I've heard some old Monitors). The problem with comparing the 9s to the 40s is that I dont have the money for them. The 20s are more affordable...maybe its just my instinct to shoot myself in the foot, but I'm definitely in the mood for trying something in this price range.

I would think going from the 9's to the 20's would be a downward move actually. I would also think going from the 9's to the 40's would be more of a lateral move, sound quality wise. I know the 40's cost more but I wouldn't think they'd necessarily be a significant upgrade because the Polks are a better value. I have the 40's v2 and I really like them but I've never heard the LSi series so I'm doing a little assuming here, but it's educated assumption FWIW.
Also, a lot of people seem to like the Paradigm Studio series v2's better than the v3's, so just because they say v3 I wouldn't make the assumption that they are better.2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. Yeah I should probably just save my time, money, and effort for something that would be more definite.

I've heard the Studio 100's run on decent separate amps (Adcom, B&K), and I have to say I'm not impressed, given the amount of hype. Honestly, they're just another speaker, nothing to brag about. Still a bit bright for music.
I'd much rather move into something like LSi 9's or Vienna Haydn's if I was going to upgrade in the bookshelf realm. Of course, that would require a good amp too.Current System:

I have had the chance to audition the Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Baby Grand with VTL gear. Boy I was blown away by it. I think if I would ever upgrade then I would choose a level above what I have.
After listening to Vienna's I like my LSi setup more as it performs best in its own league. Vienna is another league.
I hope you get my point. Lsi are great speaker in its price range. I don't see any benefit upgrading within the same price range unless there is something you really hate about the Lsi9s

i have owned a pair of reference studio 100v3.s for just about one year. and for the first six months they were paired with a rotel rb 1080 amplifier 200 wpc and rc1090 pre amp i was looking to buy a odyssey stratos extreme version but when i talked to klaus at odyssey he recomended a pair of khartago monos based on my speakers. he said that the studios thrived on high current and the khartago monos have 150 wpc and 100 amps of juice and he would have made more money if he sold me the stratos extreme but thats just the kind of guy he is. the difference was night and day and i quickly realised just how good the studios are! rotel is ok but they cant even play in the same yard as the odyssey amps so the fact that the studio 100v3 is rated for a 300 wpc amplifier leaves me no other choice but to get a pair of stratos mono extremes 300 wpc/ 120 amps current/ 180.000 uf capacitance i also switched pre amps to the odyssey tempest and am really happy with it. p.s the 100v3.s are not bright at all with the odyssey amp and preamp combination you really cant even tell that they have a metal tweeter. odyssey amps are just on the warm side of neutral and seem to smooth out all the rough edges.Rogue Audio stereo 100 tube amplifier - Lector Zoe preamplifier with 6H30 pi's

Agreed. Try experimenting w/ better amps before going w/ another speaker. LSi's are very nice, and have regularly been compared to Paradigm Rerence speakers in terms of build/sound quality.
Also agree the Baby Grands are superb. I get to work around Viennas all day long, but it would be a great day indeed when I get to welcome them into my home.Current System:
