right, but the problem is that you have 2 subs. trust me, with 2 4-ohm DVCs, if you have only 1 channel available - which you do - you can have either a 1-ohm or a 4-ohm final load; there's no way around it.
and in any case, at 2 ohms, you're not getting 500 per speaker, you're getting 500 per channel. the 500.1 has 1 channel, so that 500W is going to be divided amongst all the speakers you have hooked up to it.
if you can show me what exactly you're talking about, that'd be cool, but other than that... (and none of the images in the 500.1 manual will work to your advantage, btw)...It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon

the 500.1 is a mono, block but it has 2 sub outputs the users manual looks identical to my amp. 500.1 pdf users manual go to page 8 of the PDF file and you will see what i am talking about.

Neo is right. With dual DVC subs, you cant get a 2 ohms load.
If you wire them in series youll get a 4 ohms load. If you wire them in parallel youll get a 1 ohm load. Youll need a pair of 4 ohms SVC subs in order to get a 2 ohms load.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

then why does the wiring diagram from the polk audio websight show otherweise? MOMO SUB Page 4.

Dude.
It shows no such thing.
It shows 2 DVC subs making either a 1 ohm or a 4 ohm load. Why? CAUSE THATS ALL YOU CAN GET WITH A PAIR OF DVC SUBS!!!!!
You can get a 2 ohm load out of 2 SVC subs but you said youre getting 2 DVC subs.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

does polk make dvc 2 ohm subs?
wire in series to a 4 ohm per sub, then in parallel for a final 2 ohm load

i guess im not making my self clear enough i will try it like this...senerio 1, my amp has 2 sub outputs (sub 1, sub 2) the wireing diagram for the MM12DVC states "With coils in parallel, a dual 4ohm speaker will present a 2ohm load." Now...if i wired 1 4ohm sub to present a 2ohm load on sub output 1 and the other sub the same way on sub output 2 WILL that work"...if not why?
senerio 2, the wiring diagram states "with the coils wired in series and the speaker wired in parallel, 2 dual 4ohm speakers will present a 4ohm load." would that be a better wiring plan for me off of just the Sub output 1 and why"
i see in the amps manual that the sub output 1, and sub output 2 are wired in parallel, does that affect anything in the 2 senerios.
im just asking because like i have said before i have burnt 4 mm12svc subs in less than a year and i don't want to burn any more that **** is expencive!. -
It will not work. That is a mono amp. It has a single output of 350 watts at 4 ohms to one channel and a little over 600 watts at 2 ohms to one channel.
The amp has 2 inputs for convenience but its still only one channel.
If youre getting 2 DVC subs youre either gonna have to settle for 350 divided betwen them or get another amp and run both at 2 ohms at 600 each.
By the way, I just looked on Crutchfield and these things are on sale. Is Polk discontinuing them?polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

yes, again, there are two holes in the amp, but they lead to the same piece of metal inside - they're paralleled. you'd be getting about 200 apiece, real-world, if you stuck with the 2 DVCs (that would be with the coils in series, then each sub hooked to an output - paralleled). It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon

That Makes exelent since so with senerio 1 established and possable, if i do wire each sub to present a 2ohm load using sub 1 output and sub 2 output beeing that the 2 outputs are parallel what will the final ohm load represent? a 2ohm or a 4ohm
-
christ... that scenario will be a 1-ohm load, which that amp cannot handle. give it up - with that amp and those subs you ARE going to get a 4 ohm load (NOT scenario 1 OR 2), and you ARE going to get about 200 watts apiece. It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon
