the 7th speaker uses the same signal as the 6th, dual rear center
    Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
    Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
    ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
    Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
    Outlaw ICBM - crossover
    Beringher BFD - sub eq

Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

no, it's a dual mono signal, both the same (rear center)

    5.1

    The 5 is
    Left channel
    Center channel
    Right channel
    Surround Left channel
    Surround Right channel

Add a sub for your .1

add rear center you got the sixth channel

add a second rear center you got the 7th channel

My denon gives me the option to run 5, 6 or 7.1. Check to see if your Yamaha will do the same. I know Onkyo and HK do not give you that option.

Just an FYI, the Onkyo TXSR702 lets you run 1, 2 or no surround back speakers (for 6.1, 7.1 or 5.1).
    Win7 Media Center -> Onkyo TXSR702 -> Polk Rti70
