Adcom screw problem

This ? is for Adcom owners. I've had the top off my amp before, a long time ago to clean out dust, etc. But recently I can't seem to find the right bit to use on the screws that hold the top on. They are either to small, to big or don't have enough splines to fit in the head. I know I'm not crazy, but what kind of bit can be used to remove the screws?
Thanks

Sounds like a torx -- like an allen wrench socket in star shape.

The ones in the top of my pre-amp (gtp-400) are allen wrench type. And I am pretty sure they are metric.Setup:
