Picked this up at the Great Plains Audio Fest in Tulsa, OK this weekend. (I'll post another thread later with event photos)
My first SEP amp (Single Ended Pentode), running a pair of 6197/6CL6 power pentodes, and a 5Y3 full-wave rectifier.

Back end....

Only 1 capacitor and bias resistor in the signal path. The front mounted gain pot is wired directly from the rca inputs, to the power tubes.
Telefunken output trannies, output is 2.2 - 2.5 wpc and it loves low impedance loads.

Very nice, Russ! I'd love to hear it with my Cains.

I'd love to hear your Cains on it too!
Now, time to build some 8ft tall open-baffle jobs with some of these old Alnico drivers I have laying around.

Awesome! The rectifier tube looks sweet. It looks like a 300B (my fav looking tube). Guts is nice too. Talk about KISS. Can't wait to hear what you think of them.

Yeah, about 8" square.
It's just a coke-bottle 5Y3 vs the standard versions, which aren't much taller than the 6197's. I put em in because they look cool, I've never heard a difference in sound.
Cheers,
