Hello, I am thinking about changing speakers. I currently have RTi8's. I am looking at a set of DM603 S3's. I have an opportunity to demo them in my home before I buy. I want to see if the B&W's have a more crisp, defined, wider range of sound.

I am looking for general imput and what are my RTi8's worth if I sell them. They are about a 1 1/2 years old and are in exelent condition.

Thanks

I've owned the B&W DM 303 (I believe thats it)...

It is 2-3 times the speaker the RT series is as far as music is concerned. It may lack the impact desired for HT though....

The RT series will have more bass though.

    (IMO of course)
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I don't have any real experience w/ the 600 series, but I was not tremendously impressed w/ the 700 towers from B&W for all the hype and $$$. The 800 series w/ the Diamond tweeters is amazing, but the 700 towers are still too bright for my tastes, tho they image nicely.
Still, if you have the Rti 8's and are looking for something better, don't go low end B&W, it's not worth the money. Save up for a bit longer and go w/ some nice Vienna's or Sonus Faber (the Grand Pianos are amazing and can be had for $3000/pr). Be happy w/ your Rti 8's and save up for something really nice down the road.
