i just don't understand why Polk would take the RTI's out of Circuit city and replace them with Monitors. THat makes no sense from a reputation standpoint.

If i were polk i'd WANT to put my 2nd best product out there for the masses (circuit city buyers) and not fiddle with even making an "inferior" monitor line, especially when the monitors aren't THAT much cheaper than the RTI's to begin with.

Maybe Monitor buyers don't realize the existence of the RTI's and LSI's- since they prob. just shop at Circuit City and not in speciality stores where the LSI's- and now RTI's are sold?
If i was shopping for Polk speakers at Circuit city and saw the monitors AND KNEW THAT RTI's existed- then I would defintely cross-shop both brands.

    that's a good point zero.

and i'm not calling the monitors "inferior" from personal experience- i'm not brand bashing- i'm just going by what everyone in this thread have said.

But seriously- monitor30's sell for $200 at circuit city.
RTI4's sell for $260 at tweeter and everywhere online.

That's not a big difference moneywise- but according to everyone here is a noticeable leap in sound quality.

The next step up from the Rti-4 is the LSI-7 that sell for $700. now THAT's a huge difference moneywise. Is it a huge leap in quality? i don't know- but probably.

AGain, You make a good point.

Yeah but it's very small, and looks cute :)

It's also up to 800 watts or something like that. So I figured if I could get a great deal on it then it may be worth it.

And at $2000 I didn't possibly think it would be labelled a bad subwoofer.

Anytime you see the world "small" beside a sub, and it only has 800 watts, you need to run...

SVS has enclosures as big as your couch still needing 900 some odd watts... and it cost half price of what that Infinity does... the Infinity would become nothing more than a carpet spike under its base...

2,000 dollars can buy you an absolutely amazing subwoofer. Something Infinity isnt even a part of.

I dont know how I came to this tread but you for sure know how to talk about something you don't know. Problem is uninformed people looking fo info can see these type of posts and get confused. I consider infinity to be an excellent line of speakers, the betas are amongst the best in their price range, and now that they are discontinued and can be owned for a fraction of the price(i just found a great deal on beta 40 that couldnt resist myself) there is no equivalent in the polk line. Sure polks sound good, but the models that sound better than the betas right now are far more expensive. Oh and by the way do yourself a favor and stop spending money on cables!! you'll not get any improvements it's a matter of physics. I might not be an expert on audio but I'm an expert on electrical signals and thrust me, you're waisting your money. MIT shoguns? you could better buy a real shotgun...

Let me get this straight... you dug up a 4 year old thread to proclaim your love of Infinity, to refute the fact that everyone in this thread that has heard them didn't like them?

And then threw in that you think cables are ****, out of left field, to start another **** storm that doesn't even pertain to the original topic at hand, let alone this particular forum.

    Go away.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.
