    Hi ganzo,

Wingnut lives in Miami, Florida. Air conditioning is more likely to be an issue rather than heating.

If you're building a home theater from scratch I think putting it on a separate zone makes a lot of sense. I wish I had done that with my theater. It is very comfortable when the air conditioning is running, but it tends to get stuffy when the A/C is off for the downstairs zone.

Easy fix...turn your fan on via your thermostat. I tell all of my customers to leave theirs on anytime someone is home. Doing so will eliminate stratification, clean the air continuously, and provide the thermostat with mixed air from the entire house. This allows for better control of the entire space and makes the whole house more comfortable. Try it for a few weeks and you'll be hooked.

    Hi Frank,

Thanks. Yes, that's what I do, leave the fan on all the time as a compromise solution. When I have guests over I prefer to turn the temperature setting on the thermostat down to about 72 degrees to ensure that cool air is fed to the theater. Usually the downstairs temperature is set to about 76 degrees. Eventually I may have a separate zone retrofitted for the theater.
