Bird Watchin'....

The other day while I was eating supper, I noticed that my dog was intent on barking at something in the back yard. I went out to see what the fuss was all about, and I found a bird. He was just on the other side of the fence so he was out of harms way, but he wasn't moving any; all the while Casey (my dog) was digging around the fence and what-not, and the bird was just sitting there. I picked up a long twig and held it over the fence and touched the bird as best I could to see what its reaction would be. It just shook its head every-now-and-then, but still stayed in the same spot. So I just went in and finished eating. Later I came out and took some pictures (as it was a real pretty bird). A little while later it was gone.
What kind of bird is it (I'm attaching some pics)?
And what do you think was wrong with it that it was just sitting there like that?

It looks to me like a rare meat eating bird called the Getthefawayfromit.
Try this for some isolation:
Bird ID DatabaseCTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Hmm, I tried that, but it says 'No bird found.' We have several books on identifying birds; I'll look at one of them tomorrow or Saturday.George Grand wrote: »

Any windows nearby?
I've seen birds fly into windows and then sit there on the ground, dazed, for a little while. Sometimes they fly off; Sometimes the cat gets there first.
