Finally, got to hear this. "Jungle Sounds" is awesome 5.1 stuff. Probably the best demo I've heard.
So, who has an original disk?

The pod race in DTS is amazing. Subolba's(sp) pod sounds much more like it did in the theater.

DELETED.

I assume that I can't buy this online anywhere...does anyone know differently? I found an ebay auction...is this the right disc?

I can't see ebay from work.
It is probably a bootleg, because this DVD isn't supposed to be sold at all. -
so how does one obtain it then? is it something that you get when you buy a THX product?

Probably bootleg.
The real one comes in a CD case and looks different.
How much are they asking for it? -
"This demo DVD was developed for our licensees and their dealers, designers, installers and distributors to demonstrate the rich capabilities of THX certified equipment. It was not intended for consumer use, and its use is reserved for professional demonstrations. Content licensing agreements prohibit the sale of this disc to consumers."
-
$25 is the price.
How stupid is that...consumers can't buy it...
George Lucas "Hey, let's create this really cool DVD...but then make it so no one can buy it or watch it. The only way someone can get it is to buy one of our products, and then they may not even get it?
Marketing guy "But wouldn't you want this to be available to anyone, why restrict it to only a few people? And what about those people who bought THX equipment before this disc was released or from a dealer who didn't give this disc away, we can't do anything for them?
George Lucas "Well they'll just have to buy more stuff now won't they? Now put your gimp mask back on a shut up!"
OK, I can see restricting consumer purchasing on some items...liquid nitrogen, uranium, C4...things like that...but a freakin' DVD...no. -
