Philips CD880, any opinions?

I picked up a Philips Cd880 cd player today. I haven't listened to it yet. I am amazed at the constuction of this unit. It must weigh over 20 pounds. I bought due to the variable outs. I know it is an old player (1988?), but wonder how it would stand up to todays CD players. Anyone have any experience with one of these? Thanks, Jeff
