Center Channel Rebuild Pics...
Hmm...I got a free day with no supplies for my BP10B, I will be able to get back to them THURSDAY - however, for the time being, I RUSHED to get through the center channel today, needed to do it - so I did it! The center was put together in like 40 minutes tops.... was incredibly fast and turned out well... I need to seal up on the outisde and get it well sanded so I can wrap it in vinyl but that is about it...
Then I will work on the front baffle sometime in the next few weeks (or next year) - I doubt I will finish with *any* of the projects this year)...but should atleast have the basics done...

Awesome, Sid. It really amazes me to see how fast you're becoming a very competent enclosure builder. Looks great!George Grand wrote: »

Thanks...
I got sander happy and had to rebuild a corner...stupid me...
If you think this project is good, you will really like the BP10B build...as it is a completely different animal as far as BQ goes... The BP10B was built with much more thought and patience...lol
Anyways, anyone ever used this light-weight spackle stuff? Stuff is like foam, incredibly easy to apply and take off...nice...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Rear Firing Ports Vs. Front Firing Ports...
Hmm, curiosity gets me...
Since air rushing out of a port directly under the tweeter - that would obviously effect the sound, both are moving air...and obviously it would be interfering with the wave path of the tweeter, no?
Would it be better to locate the ports in the back - wouldnt this also clean up the vocals, keeping them from being muddy?
Thanks,- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Don't you think that if it was a problem the thing wouldn't have been designed that way?
What exactly is your purpose/reasoning in taking every speaker you own and remaking it?comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -

I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to improve upon something. What exactly is your purpose/reasoning in taking every speaker you own and remaking it?

Improving?
The center channel has .5" thick particle board, no bracing. The cabinet resonates like crazy. Added bracing, and .25" thicker enclosure, with denser wood...
Huge improvement...Should improve upon brace and voices during louder/deeper passages
The towers are being rebuilt with denser wood, thicker top and bottoms, and added bracing in the lower chamber of the cabinet with upgraded crossovers...
Both speakers will have Rosewood and black ash...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Definitely sounds sweet, Sid. Keep us posted!George Grand wrote: »

Will do...
All I know is... constructing the baffles are going to be quite a task... particularly since the baffles will rely on the other boards...
IE: I will have to glue the boards together, cut them to size, then glue the left over piece onto the other board, while this process continues, I will have to plane the boards down... then I will have to do all this other stuff.. I'm so looking forwards to it, especially since the end result relies on the last few boards...lol dangit... could take a while, I expect to finish atleast ONE speaker before the end of school...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall.
