If so, how are they?
I noticed some Audiosource amps on ubid.com that were 400 watts a piece when bridged.
Getting two 400 watt monoblocks for about $400 shipped wouldn't be a bad deal for some of these people in here to drive their power hungry RTi12 set ups.

I've owned a few. I think many of them, if not all, use toroidal power tansformers. Not bad amps at all although I would suggest buying used so if you decide you don't like them you can get your money back. If you get a great Ubid price that might not be too bad. Ebay usually has quite a few of them and they're pretty easy to sell. They are budget amps however, but they should certainly beat most receivers I would think.2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. I have been meaning to ask, is there anything inherently advantageous or superior to a toroidal power supply over a conventional one (what ever that may be)?System 1: Martin Logan Vantage, Rotel RC 1070, B&K Reference 200.2, Music Hall DAC 15.2, Yamaha 2300
System 2: LSi15 w/db840, Marantz SR8400, Rotel 1080, RM6800 (C&S), Sony X2020ES
System 3: LSi7, Yamaha SW215, Music Hall Maven, Music Hall MMF CD25 w/627opamps
System 4: RTi100, Harman Kardon AVR 230, Panasonic DVD -

Good question, and I don't know what the alternatives are, either. I guess I just thought it either had a toroidal power supply, a larger toroidal power supply, or had one of those new chip amps. Speaking just of SS amplification.
I'm looking forward to an answer, too.George Grand wrote: »

I know conventional power supplies have a rectangular shape rather than the hamburger shape and many manufacturers use toroidal in their higher line products (rotel 1056 vs 1067 for example). Maybe they produce less noise.....System 1: Martin Logan Vantage, Rotel RC 1070, B&K Reference 200.2, Music Hall DAC 15.2, Yamaha 2300

The lesser Rotel receiver (1056) has an ei core transformer instead of a torodial one.

I'm very seriously considering getting a pair of those Amp3 to run in 400 watt bridged mode for driving my pair of RTi12.
Even counting shipping charges, a pair of 400 watt monoblocks for less than $500 total wouldn't be half bad at all! -
The AMP 1's, which I owned, are 200W bridged and they're only $79. You'd think 200W would be plenty for anything but a sub maybe.2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. The RTi12 IS a sub!

Nice thing about the Amp Two is the signal sensing auto turn on.
