sorry guys...
Didn't get the Polk RTi8 -- I thought about buying it for the past 2 years but it only took me 2 days to jump the gun and purchase the KEF Q5.
This would not have happened if I had not read someone else's post here about purchasing KEF at the last minute instead of the RTi8. It surprised me that the store I went to had KEF so... what the heck, I auditioned it out of curiousity.
And wow it sounded pretty darn nice and clear! And the soundstage was pretty good too. Too bad they didn't have an RTi8 at their location so I couldn't hear them side by side. I hadn't heard the RTi8 in a long while so off I headed to Future Shop.
At FS, the RTi8 sounded just as good as I remembered. Clear and sharp details but I think instruments/voices did not seem as focussed as KEF. But still, they both sounded good and I seriously could not make up my mind. It drove me nuts!
The next day I brought my own CD and auditioned the KEF again. Again the soundstage was fantastic and I could sometimes pick out where distinct instruments or voices could be heard. After a little bit of bargaining I made the decision to purchase it.
Afterwards I headed back to FS to listen to the RTi8 again and it sounded great too!
I hope I didn't jump the gun too early by making a decision in such a short time.
The RTi6's for my rears are still on my list though. Don't want to disappoint the Polk crowd!

Ill stick up for the RTi8...I havnt heard it...but I am sure it feels lonely..
I feel kinda bad...only RT speaker I've heard from the current line is the RTi12 at the Polk HQ... Which is probally why I havnt listened to anymore...
Anyways...
EDIT: I just realized what I said...
AND - I didnt want to/or feel compelled to listen to the rest of the line because it sounded exactly like the other RT lines I've heard in the past (RT35i, etc)...while an improvement on the line before it, it is still on par with the line before, before it... Just my opinion...but I thought I should clarify- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
