Need a Sub
Hi all, I'm in the market for a subwoofer to go along with the Pioneer SX-1280 and RT5s in my bedroom-not very big and-can't have it tooo loud cause my parents and sister complain. Any suggestions for a nice, good sounding, small, cheap sub?

Martin Logan Dynamo. One single 10" woofer, small cube, can position it for forward or front firing, goes to 25 Hz strong. Nice little sub, very accurate, goes deeper than any other little sub I know of. Find it at a local Martin Logan Dealer if possible, it's on sale for $580 where I work right now. For $470 shipped the SVS PB 10 ISD goes lower and louder, but is much bigger and probably too much for a bedroom. Thus, the Dynamo, which accopmlishes all of your goals, unless you're looking at only spending $200-300, in which case you'll be buying **** anyway so it doesn't much matter.
We also sell Boston speakers where I work, and their PV500 sub is okay for the money (around $350 I think), but the Dynamo blows it away, and the Boston has significant distortion when overdriven.
Check out the Dynamo here.Current System:

The Energy S8.2 is a nice little 8" sub that does great in small/medium rooms. It is one of the best inexpensive small subs you can get. I am selling one in the flea market if you are interested, send me a PM. Here is the thread
See what CNET has to say about the S8.2 at this link
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
A lot of folks recommend the Dayton 10" 100 watt for budget systems:

I bought one as have some of my friends. Great deal, but don't expect $1,000 performance for $125. Good for home theatre, just OK for 2 channel music.

thanx for the help-still looking. My main objective is music though so....
Thanx for the help again-this is why this forum is so greatGod shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8 -
I use a SVS PCi 22-31 in my 10.5x10.5x8 bedroom, I'm 16 as well...
I will say, if your willing to work, it can be set up for music just fine... Accurate as it gets for me... and can still make ur neighbors mad... the PB10 may be a different story, as it needs bracing
Anyways.... HSU has an 8" subwoofer for around 300...isnt much of a sub, but will fill in the low end...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
if this is for mostly music, definitly throw in the Hsu STF-2 on the list of subs to consider. I've used it for 2 channel with great results. a breaze to integrate into your system, and can be as tame as you want it to be. tight, accurate bass, especially for music.Living Room 2 Channel -
