Amazing how sucky it is to have your reference speakers out of commission....but I hope to have them back in order with some improvements...maybe it will be worth the wait! I dunno...But these lil DTs and DIY comp speakers arnt going to cut it...

I may have to pull the Black Labs out of hiding!

You get use to the sound..then you take it away and put something of lesser quality in its place and it takes the joy out of the music...blah

Oh well. I bet you'll live. And think about it; the DefTechs'll sound even better when you get them put back together.

    It's worth it.

    Sid,
I see you dove into the DT's... However, did not see mention of mirror imaging the them. Might as well...

Side note: The XLR's arrived Saturday.
    More later,
    Tour...

yea I notice that too... yesterday I was bored so I hooked up my Athenas to my 2 ch system (usually use the athenas for movies) and compared to my LSI 7's it wasn't a pretty comparison. Much brighter and seem to lack a bit of midbass but that was probably just cause they were a lot brighter than I am used to with the laid back lsi 7's. Gotta admit that they are pretty damn good for 200 dollar speakers tho... they even came with a free sub that does nicely :p

So I must have missed something here but are you in the middle of selling and buying new speakers? Why not just hook up your B&W's for the meantime?

B&W's left over a month ago.. Weren't quite it, much better speakers than the mini DTs (BP6B) as far as music goes, but failed with capturing the music.

I am in the middle of modding my speakers. Crossovers are sent off to a forum member for modification :p

Tour, do you *really* think I should mirror them? hehe

    Glad it arrived!

The Beemers had a great soundstage, they werent bright, and they were smooth throughout everything...

However, being how laid back they were, they never 'captured' the music for me...

For instance, when playing Angie Aparo (The American) on track 11 (I believe) where it is him singing... With the BP10B, his voice is huge, and forceful throughout the song, with the beemers, they were small and uninvolving....just didnt do anything for me.

No Beemers I have heard have ever done this...must just be me...

Aside from that, they were very accurate, and very smooth.
