Has anyone heard of Jack Johnson? A friend introduced him to me about a week ago, and I've listened to him a few times since then. His music is mellow, like Mark Knopfler, and it has guitar in it, like Eric Clapton. I've actually grown quite fond of the sound. I hadn't heard a thing about him, but my friend said that he was at the top of the charts for a while. (I think he was referring to the 'charts' at yahoo's music site.)

Anybody heard of him? What do ya think?

Couple years ago he had out a cool song called "flake". Took me forever to find out its title/artist.

Actually thought it was a mellow Red Hot Chili Peppers song ?!

Anyways, good artist , great for kickin back and relaxing.

Yep, he's three albums deep already. I haven't heard the newest one yet, but the other two are good.

I've been feeling down all night for some reason. Just felt lethargic and didn't want to do anything, yet I have to do quite a bit, but I've just been sitting around. I just put Jack Johnson on a little bit after I started this thread, and voila! (sp?) It's brought up my spirits! I can't say this is because of Jack Johnson, specifically; probably any kind of music would have worked. It just goes to show how powerful music is. It's amazing what it can do to you. It's a shame that so many people don't understand or appreciate music.

Reminds me of a quote I read (I think this is how it went): That which comes closest to expressing the inexpressable besides silence is music.

Or maybe I just botched that all up. If so, I just made a new quote! :D

Yeah. I think he's released about 3 albums already. He's had more airplay here in Canada and just really breaking out in the States.

He recently played on SNL and he's makin the rounds with magazine interviews.

Kinda reminds me of John Mayor too but without the teeny fanbase chasing after him.

Yeah, what reminded me of him was I heard John Mayer on the radio. They do kinda sound the same.

But I like Jack Johnson a lot more. :D
