Psw1000

I know polk currently does not have a good higher end line up of subwoofers, but in the past people have been quite pleased with their psw650 and psw1200. I know the LSiW is essentially the same as the psw1000, but the psw1000 has a better amplifier.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to how this new dual ten inch sub might fare against the likes of SVS and HSU?
Should I even bother waiting to consider the psw1000 if im in the market for a sub?
My room is 20 x 15 with 10' ceilings. I have hardwood floors.
On a side note my LSi15s and LSiC arrived today, supposedly the LSi9s are on back order. They are beautiful! I can't wait to properly burn them in!
I am currently considering the HSU vtf-3 mk2, and the SVS 25-31PC plus.
Thanks
Julian

SVS will shatter it in the lower frequencies...
As far as accuracy goes, the PC + and Ultra line should beat it... or compare equally. Even though the entire SVS line is accurate.
The Ultra driver has a sound of its own.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

I generally recommend auditioning all likely candidates before making the decision (if this is at all possible... since some of the brands mentioned are more or less direct sales)Brian Knauss

I just saw it now. I wanted to upgrade my 650 to the LSiW but there was a recall. Now it's back and it's better.
You guys can't say the SVS will perform better for accuracy until you've heard both side by side:rolleyes:. Polk knows many of you have been bitchin about their subwoofers. This one looks like a serious sub. This sub was made to go with the LSi speakers. Take the LSi9 as an example. That little sucker can pump out serious bass and fool many people into thinking there's a sub in the room. Imagine how a sub made for them would sound.
Gonna go down to my dealer and find out how much I could get one for.

It's out? It's available to purchase? The website still says July.
I notice you are from Toronto, isn't FutureShop the only dealer for Polk in Canada? I don't even think they would stock an item like this.
Any info would be appreciated.
Sadly, this sub wouldn't even match my RTi product line... I kinda wish I had LSIs sometimes because I saw them recently and they look so damn gorgeous. -

Hi Laura,
Been busy and I forgot about the release date. I will check with my dealer once it hits the market. Are you also from Toronto? I highly doubt Future Shop will be getting these subs. I'm sure it will go to small shops like their LSi speakers.
I got my LSi9 from a small shop in Mississauga called Tabangi Electronics. You can get some killer deals there if you pay cash. But only Moe will give you the good deals. I think he's the owner.
Like Polkmaniac said, sound wise, they will match your RTi. It's just the cosmetics will be different. But think about it, if you buy the sub and you feel they don't look good with the RTi, it gives you an excuse to purchase some LSi:D .

PSW1000 is not out yet.
I would reserve judgements on the sound quality until listening to the systemBrian Knauss

No way man! SVS is going to destroy it;).

I wouldn't be able to comment since I haven't heard an SVS beforeBrian Knauss

Interesting, I had no idea there were LSi dealers in Canada, since I was under the impression Future Shop was the only dealer.
Interesting, I may stop by that store next time I'm in Toronto. Wish I would've known about it before though, because maybe then I would've bought the LSi series (I couldn't stand the idea of buying speakers without having heard them). It's too late now though, my RTi purchases are done and over with.
Yes, I meant cosmetically they will be different in style... those sorts of things bother me too... In fact I'm having a hard enough time matching FURNITURE from Sanus.
Hmmm...that reminds me, maybe I'll post a thread on Sanus furniture. -
I had a LSiW and was satisfied with it. When they recalled them I sent it back and bought a SVS 25-31CS+ and powered it with an extra amp channel I was not using
Let me just say I am glad the LSiWs were recalled. It was a nice upgrade and if you get and amp with it, it is still less than the Polk
