I have a chance to buy Random's rti10's. A lot of you know I have been waiting for the 8's but this seems like a good deal.
I have the yam rxv540 @80wpc I am planning on up grading receivers in the near future. If I set the speakers to small will my receiver have enough to power the 10's? I don't listen to it loud max we ever go to is -30 for movies.
Please let me know
Thanks
JF

not meant to bump,
if it came down to it and I didn't want power to go the the woofs on the 10's can they be disconnected ? or would that mess everything up ? -
yes your receiver can do it. it can't run them at their best but so what, i'm sure you will like how they sound. **** i ran rti150's off an aiwa receiver and that little thing never shut down (probably because there was no protection circuit but we will ignore that factor haahaa). If it's a good deal, and you like the 10's then go for it.
yes you could disconnect the woofers, but if that was ur plan you should just grab an pair of rti5's or whatever the bookshelf model is.
you can always add a seperate amp later, assuming your receiver has preouts. -
Thanks Air, I have decided against the 10's .
1- didn't like the sound matched with my receiver
2- I don't have enough juice
3- I don't have xtra $$ for a receiver + amp upgrade right now -
The woofers can be disconnected...
The midbass is in its own enclosure (I hope)- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
