A nice Sub to compliment the LSI15s

I am in the process of building my audio system, and I am looking for a good sub to compliment my LSi 15s for music listening. I like jazz, classical, rock, and little bit of everything else. I would like Quality over Power.
Lots of people have SVS and HSU, an I'm willing to spend $1000 as my upper limit.
My room is 20 x 15 with 10' ceilings.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Julian

Yep. You can spend less than one-half of $1K on it, though if it's just for music. Get an SVS PB10-ISD or a Hsu STF-2. Also add Onix Rocket UFW-10 to your short list.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub
"God grooves with tubes." -
Don't buy one. I don't use my sub for 2 channel, don't need it at all. Others will disagree, we've gone over this so many times....
Play with the placement first, add better amplification next, and if nothing else works get a sub. -
I also want to use the sub for movies, maybe I should have specified that earlier. Sorry about that. I also left a big post in the subwoofer forum:

I am a rookie at this, but I'm very concerned with doing it right the first time. I am a university student, and my buddies and I have just gotten a new house where we can really turn up the volume.
I am really looking forward to the day when my LSi 15s, 9s, and c come...they are in transit.
Any further thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I agree with Frank, play first, think later. I would use a subwoofer, depending on what speaker I was using....for example, Magnepan MMG....yes....Carver Amazing....no.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

There are any number of quality subs on the market. You're going to get quite a few recommendations for SVS and HSU. You might want to look at the Outlaw LFM-1 while your at it. Personally, I use a Sunfire TrueSub EQ. A bit over your budget but well worth the added cost.
As with all things audio, it's all in the ear of the listener. Audition as much as possible and buy what sounds best to you.
