Just run a wire from the REM wire on the HU, it's either blue, or blue with a white or black stripe, back to the REM terminal on the amp. Any wire should do, I'm using half of an old piece of speaker wire.

    First off QUIT YELLING!

Second, you run the blue or blue/white wire from the h/u to the amps remote input usually marked by RMT.

But this may not be your problem. If yo dont have the remote hooked up your amp wouldnt be coming on at all much less in standby.

Run the remote wire and let us know if it worked. You may have another problem.

    I wasnt yelling....

Well my first problem was..when I tried to ground the amp, the LED light goes off, but when the ground is not secure, the light is on. Then, my dad's friend said, its in standby mode, and not turning on, cuz of the RMT.

I dunno whats going on, wish I could just wave my hand, and it all go away. BTW..my equipment is MTX T202, and 10" inch polkmomo sub.

JDM, I'm a newbie myself to the site, but I can assure you these guys are awesome and will help out in every way ... I know firsthand. What they meant by you yelling was having your CAPS LOCK on for your previous posts ... in net chat terms this is yelling. Sorry I can't give you any tech help, these guys are the experts at that.

That doesnt make any sense. If the amp is not grounded then the light most certainly should not be anything other than OFF.

    OK, try this:

Unhook all wiring. Power, ground, RCA's speakers, everything.

If you have a test light, make sure your power wire has power. If so, hook it up.

Then run the remote wire from the h/u but before hooking it up to the amp, use your test light and see if it has power.

If so then hook up your ground. Make sure its a good ground location and the area around the ground has all the paint sanded away for best contact.

Now if your amp turns on, then hook up the RCA's. If the amp turns off then thats where your problem is.

If it stays on then hook up your speaker wires. If the amp cuts off now then thats where your problem lies.

Try this and let us know what happened. We can trouble shoot from there.

Well, I tell you so far what i have tried...

    without hooking up the RMT,

When i connect the power wire..light is off

When I then connected the RCAs, light turns on

Then when i tried to ground, the light turns off

Go ahead with the baseball bat idea. Then post pics.:D :D

It sounds like you are getting ground through your RCAs. Disconnect them, run all power wires, get the amp to power on and off properly, then connect your signal wires.

You should be trying these things with the hu on and off, the key should be in the ignition cause the hu is hooked up to a switched 12v source. When the hu turns on, it sends the signal to the amp, via the REM wire, to turn on. Therefore, amps gotta be on. The light on the amp could be on, even without a ground hooked up. I had a problem with my ground wouldnt stay screwed in to the amp. Everytime it came off, the light would turn red, hu on or not. Hook it back up, and the light turns on, or green if the hu is on.

yea the light is red when it turns on, by just plugging in the RCAs and power wire. I also tried with the HU on, I guess i will have to run the rmt to the amp and see what happens from there...but im still confused on how to do that, because i have adapters hooked up to my HU, should i just run a wire into the adapter..then to the amp?

The amp will be OFF until the remote wire is hooked up. This is what turns it on.

With the remote not hooked up the amp should not come on regardless of what you have hooked up.

If the light turns red, that means the amp is in protection mode and its either grounded improperly, overheating or operating at too low an impedance.

Forget the light for now. You need to get it hooked up properly before you can troubleshoot anything. WITHOUT THE REMOTE WIRE HOOKED UP THE AMP WILL NOT WORK! (now Im yelling :p )

Pull your head unit out and find the remote wire. If it is not running to anything (power antenae) then hook a wire onto it and run it to your amp.

Well, 16 guage is what I would use for the RMT. If the 20 is all you have use it for now just to see if it works.

The 10 wont fit into the terminal anyway.

Yup. It gets that way sometime.

Finish that beer, sit there and watch some TV or something and forget about your system for about 15 minutes. Then when youve cooled off you go back out there and its a whole lot better.

You run the REM wire from the blue/white wire on the back of the hu, to the REM terminal on the amp. This is what tells the amp to turn on, otherwise it just stays off.

Alright, just looked at it...i see a blue wire that comes into the stereo harness, then loops back into the harness and ends there...im guessing thats the wire? if so...put my wire into the other side of the harness of where the wire ends, and run it back to the amp?

Should be, if you don't have a power antenna then it should just stop. You can hook it to the end of the harness, or just crimp, splice, or whatever to that wire somewhere, if you wanna cut it or something.

Your wiring harness should be labled and should tell you which one is the remote wire. If you cant find it look for the blue or blue/white wire coming out of your head unit and follow that one.
