UFC 52 (spoilers)

There was a thread a few weeks ago that some guys mentioned mixed martial arts, so I know there's some other people here that's into it. Who else watched UFC 52 tonight? It was a GREAT show! I couldn't believe Chuck Liddell's punch that knocked out Randy Cotoure. Wow, I was stunned by that, the way Randy dominated the first fight. I'm happy for Chuck since he has been after the championship so long.

The other amazing fight was Matt Hughes choking out Trigg. I was strongly rooting for Matt in this one since I live close to the Quad Cities where he trains. I was really disappointed when it looked like he was gonna be KO'd after he got rocked after the ball shot, and then nearly get rear-naked choked. What an unbelievable comeback to get free, slam Trigg, and get his own choke on!

We got, what, 8 fights tonight and I think only one decision. Awesome. And then we get the encore next weekend with the start of the Pride Fighting Championship middleweight tournament, which could be even better than tonight. Can't wait for that!

    Trigg crotch tagged Dennis Hallman also. Probably the only way he can beat better technicians.

    If you can't get Liddell on the mat, it's only a matter of time until he lands the big punch.

    Thats what I always liked about Liddel. He is very hard to take down. Coture is a master take down artist and he has a lot of trouble with Chuck.

    Stand up fighters have been trying for years to avoid being taken down by wrestlers and Liddel is probably the first one to perferct it.

    Im more of a grappler and root for Coture but I gotta give Chuck mucho repect. He is a badass and deserves his title.
