Couplers and Connectors Question

Am I losing quality by going through couplers? I got an Acoustic Research Y Cable and it's only available in 3ft, so I got Acoustic Research couplers to put on them so I could attach another set of 6 feet audio cables... am I losing quality at all? Should I jtu special order a 9 foot Y Cable? I don't really like that idea though.

Can a standard coupler be used to extend a digital coax as well? Or are you losing the digital signal when you go through a coupler? Is there such a thing as a "digital coupler"?

    I seriously doubt you'll hear any difference by adding the coupler, just make sure it's of good quality.

    I have no idea whether or not it's good quality really, I mean it cost me about 4 Canadian dollars..heh.

    It's Acoustic Research though and it's their "performance series" which same series as my other cables....so hopefully it's good enough :)

    I'll take a gamble.

    I just hope the sound quality doesn't degrade at 20 Feet... I know S-Video has a limit of like 25 Feet, so if it's anything like that then I'm cutting it close! :)
