I'm just about to buy Polk FXi5 speakers and I know that Polk sells speaker stands for them. However, I don't know which stands to buy. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks very much.

Ask the wife. She'll have an opinion. Here's some free advice, sweat the speaker stuff, not the furniture the speaker sits on.

i have mine on stands and they sound great. If it won't suffice on a sidewall then put them on stands

I have to agree with Pinktulip

The Fx series were designed to sound their best on the wall. Even a guy at Polk told me he steers customers away from using the FX series as surrounds unless they will be wall mounted.

My FX 30 s were pretty lackluster on stands as my surrounds but now they shine as my rear channels on the wall in my 7.1 system.

put them on stands, hook them up, and if you think they sound good than you are on your way.

everyone is so quick to say, if it sounds good to you than do it. Same thing applies in this case

Don't believe everything you hear, even from salesman. I have the Polk LSiFX on 30in stands against my two side walls. They sound absolutely awesome. In fact I made a temporary make-shift pair of stands so I could audition other brands without wall mounting. I auditioned Axiom surrounds, Aperion surrounds, & Kef surrounds, they all sounded pretty good especially the Kef's. Then I stopped in Tweeter's on day while I still had all the speakers & picked up the LSiFX's. In my opinion & my buddies the Polk's stole the show big time. All the other speakers went back for my refund. I like the 30 day trial period I got w/ Axiom & Aperion the Kef's were from a local dealer, he only gave me 2 wks. It was a lot of fun having all those speakers at on time to play around with. You can really do comparisions that way. Even my wife & son liked the Polk's. She thought I was nuts with all those speakers but in the end the LSiFX's ruled the kingdom. Also, I didn't have any problem with any of the companies on getting my full refund. In fact they were pretty good about it. Polks are now on a good pair of metal stands. Listen for yourself & you be the final judge on the sound. Have fun!!!!!

Bought a pair of 13 inch TV mounts at Lowes that work the best. I understand that they are to be mounted flush with the wall but in some situations of rooms that isn't possible. They were 48 bucks a piece and rated for heavy poundage. 4 huge lag screws hold it up and (black) strap holds the speaker down. I also put some velcro on the bottom for added security and sound isolation.
