the warranty becomes void at 250 each. i'd stay at 150 or under, the w0 isn't an amazing sub. it works, but i wouldn't expect a ton out of it.

The ratings are there for a reason.

These are 125 watt subs. They are also very well built which means they can handle a lot more. But if you give them 300 watts, you wont be getting much more than 125 watts worth of output. A sub can only move as far as its suspension allows.

If you havent already bought these, you may want to look at the W3's for more power handling.

If you do choose to get the W3's, I've got two 10W3 dvc's sitting in storage. They work, rather well at that. They're in a downfiring box, so that can come with them. If you want them, let me know.

bah i've had these subs for already 6-7 years. i've only been feeding them 100rms each so i thought i'd upgrade to properly run them. hmmm maybe an upgrade is due. EDIT: actually i just realized that someone offered me a straight up trade of my 2 jlwo's for two alpine 12" type r's. are they any better? man i feel like a noob :(

The Type R's are better than the W0's and as good as the W3's. The Alpines are geared more towards SPL where the JL's are meant more for SQ.

yea but the type R's dont have the incredibly horrible motor noise that the w3s are notorious for...get the type R's, theyre a much better sub

sorry that this is slightly off-topic, but what about alpine's type-x? still spl-oriented?

denis - i think that you're due for an upgrade... do you have a budget for this?

No, the type X are very good SQ subs. At least the old ones were. I havent heard the new ones but they did get smokin' reviews in Performance Auto and Sound.

The hell you talking about? Ive never heard anything about a notorious motor noise out of these things. And in all the W3's Ive listened to, Ive never heard anything other than bass.
