Internal wiring

So which one of you nuts is gonna be first to attempt to put better wiring between his ears and brain? C'mon now, its a great idea, who knows how much signal loss those stupid stock nerves have. Imagine how nice it would sound with some nice high quality XLR cables between your ears and brain. No signal loss at all and no interference from pesky thoughts or whatever else happens to run a muck in your mind.

AP, your point is well-taken, but perhaps doesn't go far enough. While using "quality" cables instead of the "entry-level" auditory nerves which God has given us should result in better bass, smoother highs, etc., even better should be a direct bypass, as described here . This has been directed up to now towards those with auditory abnormalities and has had only limited acceptance due to the expense and possible danger of the operation. However, a true audiophile seeking the highest purity of sound wouldn't be deterred by such trivial considerations. Possibly this could become the next great "upgrade" for those who've already replaced their cables and wires.
