Yea they got me.
Chicago radio station 670AM ran with a story this morning about the possible flu-like or food poisoning symptoms of two of Illinois' biggest stars, Luther Head and Dee Brown.
They went with it all morning, slowly adding on false reports from their beat reporter and update guy. What sold the joke was the use of people outside the radio staion. Ex- Arkansas coach Nolan Richardson gave his opinion, several out of town reporters from national magazines gave theirs and an assistant coach with Louisville ( their next opponet) also talked about the Illini's troubles. Brilliant!!!!!
To understand the joke better you have to realize that many in the "Illini Nation" are just waiting for the wheels on this years dream season to fall off. And we know that National Champs and Illinois are often used in the same sentence.
