Subwoofer? None. Too much weight to justify it.

you could get the pioneer premier truck sub... only 4" deep, can't weigh that much...

and i wonder if it's noticeable, in a 2500 pound car? even the most abusive setup won't top 250 pounds (unless it's competition-level spl), and that's simply like carrying a big guy around all the time. now, i know i can feel the effect of a passenger on spirited driving, but that's what quick-releases are all about :)

Music isn't important feature for me so I settled for just speakers and a receiver. I'm thinking of getting rid of them too, not much point to listen to music when the car exceeds 100dB by itself and has hardly any noise insulation.

Don't mind me, I'm just not a big music listener in car. I just replied because everyone is asking what kind of sub I plan to put into it. I always tell them I'll rip the existing audio off just for the giggles to see their face... :)

100dB+ is on idle. It's a R32 Skyline GT-R. It got very loud after installing 272 cams in it. Sets off car alarms worse than Harley's. I'm working on getting it much quieter, some like it when cars are loud but to me it's an inconvenience and attracts cops (who are usually very cool about it).

Yeah, it's the best sub that I've ever own. I only have one right now, which is more than plenty for me. I've seen subs that have greater excusion then H2s but I haven't found one that can sustain 2000 watts rms with the excusion that the H2 is capable of. :D

Car Audio and Electronics magazine did a test on one last year sometime. They said it hit harder than any sub theve EVER tested! Also said it didnt sound bad either for a SPL sub this badass!

Man, I had no idea that your Skyline was so loud!! Are all Skylines that loud, or did you just rip all the sound-insulation out and put in those cams? What kind of exhaust do you have? Is most of the noise from the exhaust or the engine? I'd never thought about it before, but what's the redline on that thing?

Sets off alarms worse than a Harley?! That's pretty loud; I'd love to see it/hear it/ride in it (and dream of driving it :D)

It still has all the factory insulation on it but it's basicly a street version of a race car so there isn't much. Insulation is luxury and luxuries cost weight. Then again, it has AC and all kinds of power options (windows, mirrors etc.) which are unnecessary.

Cams and 3" exhaust pretty much did the job from (mildly) loud to extremely loud. It's worst around 3000-3500rpms (and the redline is around 8k but those cams allow me to rev it past it, sometimes all the way to 9k but mostly around 8.5k).

If you're ever in Dallas let me know and I will give you a ride.

Hey now, Ive never knocked big bass.

Big bass doesnt mean bad SQ necessarily. My local Diamond Audio dealer has a Diamond/Eclipse demo Chevy Tahoe. He's got 2 Diamond 12's getting 1000 watts each. I got to demo it with my trusty Dream Theater CD and it sounded awesome. Each bass kick knocked the wind out of me but yet it didnt overpower the mids/highs. Possibly the best tuned system Ive ever heard with that much power to the subs.

My ultimate system (real world) is an H2 powered by a Crossfire VR1000D (1500 watts real world). But thats a ways down the road. For now Ill have to settle for a L5 getting 400 watts. ;)

damn, I hate to do this,

I have dibs on a used 2500D, (wanted a second one for competition) but I don't have cash in hand, there is one that is not claimed yet that just went up on the www.TeamSSAudio.com forums in the for sale section, excellent guy to deal with, but he is asking only $450 for a slightly use 2500D,

so lets say you could grab the pair for less than 800 combined ;)

oh and my H2's home is a 3 cube tuned to 33hz
