I was thinking of maybe doing a enclosure under my HU din, for an 8" momo sub or a 6" JL sub. I am leaning towards more of a 6" sub. I only going to power like 100w to it. i seen this done before, and heard good and bad things about this setup...any input on this?

if you're talking about this being the only sub in the system, it is indeed a mixed blessing. you will need far less power to get the right volume, and you will have much more crossover flexibility, and no staging/imaging issues.

now, the flipside is that you simply will not get the low range extension you want. no matter how big an xmax an 8" sub has, it will never reach the bottom registers that a 12" will.

if you can mount a 10 or 12 up in there, problem solved. otherwise, there is a tradeoff.
