Connecting Monitor 30s as surround and Mains for Ch. B?

Greetings,
I probably shouldn't be attempting this so thats why I'm asking first: I'm about to purchase a pair of Monitor 30's to complete my set up. I run Monitor 50s for fronts a Vintage CS245i for the center and a Velodyne sub. I'll be using the Monitor 30s for the surround but was wondering if it was possible to have them set up on the "B" side of my Receiver/Amp as the 2 mains as well? They would be the only ones on the "B" side and would be set up by our treadmill.
The reason for this would be to use them as surrounds for my normal 5:1 set up but have the option to switch over to the "B" side of the Receiver/Amp to use them as left right speakers when we use the tredmill. It's hard to hear the TV when we are on it. What this would mean is that I would have 2 sets of wire running to the binding posts. Is it OK to do this or could I damage the equipment? I'm concerned because the receiver will allow you to select ch. A+B at the same time as well. Thanks for your comments.

You are right to be concerned. Activating 2 different amp channels to the same speaker(s) is not a good thing.
There are several speaker switchers available that accept inputs from two different amps and use "make/ break" switching so the amps never see each other.
Russound is one company that I have seen this feature on. One of their older models, the SB-3, just closed on ebay for $23. It'd do want you want safely..More later,

Thanks, I think I'm going to ues my Yamaha rears on the "B" side for now and see how that works. I may go with a set of in the ceiling Polks eventually. I'm setting up the 30s this weekend.
