anybody ever owned a phoenix gold amp or have any opinions on them? i am currently looking at an R8.0:4 four channel amp.

    Phoenix Gold are excellent amp. Been around for a long time.

    I don't know if it is too late for you, but phoenix gold amps are awesome... I own a PG 100.2X Xeon model and a PG 100.4X And the 4 channels gives my highs and mids an awesome tweet and sound on my polk 6.5 2 ways and 2 way 4x6 and I was blown away how good that 200 watt amp pushed my 12 in. subs 2124. They are bumping.
