I don't have any Kenwood gear, but when I was growing up, I always wanted one of those Kenwood cassette decks with the vertical LED meters. Not to mention Kenwood's Basic series of power amps and pre-amps.

Well, their Soverign line is actually really nice considering it hasn't been upgraded since 2001 when it was launched. The top of the line model even did Component video up convergience, again, for 2001! Optical and a coaxial digital input per source input... I was really impressed with their product and how it all intertwined with each other. Very impressive... for 2001. They were supposed to be releasing a new lineup but haven't heard anything since the rumor of that. But as for Kenwood other than that line, it's junk. Their HTiB's are absolutely horrible. I mean, sure they're using junk speakers and what-not but dear god... nothing works right or even sounds moderately good. I can't even say "For the money, it's good." To bad, Kenwood used to be a quality product.

Very warm feelings for good old Kenwood - bought a KR-9600 receiver back in 1978 that still performs flawlessly to this day in my excercise room. That was back in the days of the "monster" receivers (160 wpc and 53 lbs.!) :)
